Frets On Fire All In One Thread – Songs, Themes

Ok, I think we all know what guitar hero and rock band is, and us with computers and large brains know were not f@#$ing rich enough to afford everything for those games, so we use alternatives like Frets on Fire.

Frets on Fire is “Another” Guitar Hero wanna-be game, but i think that should be switched around, because Guitar Hero never was as open source as FoF is. First of all, there is alot you can do with the game, and there is alot to be done, but im here to assist you in all your FoF needs.

How To:

How To Install FoFiX:There are Several Different ways to install it depending on how you downloaded the game.

-If you downloaded it in a .RAR: I’ll assume you have winrar. After you download it, Right Click the .RAR and select extact to “Folder Name” and then move the extracted folder anywhere you want and run the .EXE inside called FretsonFire.exe to play it.

How To Install Themes: After downloading the .zip file, extract it. It should end up in a folder of the themes name, and then move that folder into the “frets on fire/data/theme” folder.

How To Install Songs: First, create a folder named “songs” in the “frets on fire/data” folder. Then, assuming all songs download in zip folders and are put into the zip folders the right way(the songs files are put into 1 folder- if they aren’t just put the stuff you extract into a folder and name it after the song), you extract them and they end up in a folder of the songs name. Then move that folder into the “frets on fire/data/songs” folder.

How To Use The Guitar Hero/ Rock Band Controller in FoF: First, you need a Rock Band/Guitar Hero controller that’s USB, you can buy PS2/Xbox to USB converters on the internet. Google It. All you have to do is plug the controller in. Windows will find the driver and install it, and then you can use it in FoF. So, start up FoF and then select options on the main menu, then select controls or key settings and then set up your controller with the correct functions.

How To Use The Rock Band Drum Set: Same Idea as using the guitar controller, plug it in, windows installs it, you use it, but instead of selecting “guitar keys” select “drum keys.”
